To
buy at the tourist information:
Adventure maps for the south of Karmøy. Maps for walks/hikes.
Information on nature, sights and places of historical and/or cultural
significance can be bought from the tourist information or local
bookstores, the price is 75 NOK.
Nature- and cultural-walk. A marked walk from Ferkingstad to Åkrehamn.
A pamphlet can be bought.
Areas with freshwater fishing. To be allowed to fish in freshwater
you have to have a fish card (fiskekort). The card is free of charge
for children under 16. You can buy this card from the tourist information,
local post offices and local shops that sells fishing equipment.
How to get to Karmøy:
By
Car:
From Oslo: Take the E-134 from Oslo, then
onto the Rv 47 and follow this all the way to Karmøy.
From Bergen: Take the E-39 by Stord and onto
the Rv 47 to Karmøy.
From Stavanger:
- Mekjarvik: The E-39 from Stavanger to Mekjarvik.
Take the Ferry to Skudeneshavn (app. 70 min), the ferry does 6
trips a day.
- By Bokn: The E-39 from Stavanger towards
Haugesund by the Mortavika-Arsvågen ferry.
By express bus:
From Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger to Haugesund.
The bus from Stavanger connect with the Mekjarvik
- Skudeneshavn ferry.
By plane:
Helganes airport have daily flights from Oslo,
Bergen and Stavanger. Also direct flight to the UK.
By boat:
The Flaggruten between Stavanger and Bergen
stops in Kopervik 4 times a day, both ways.
